South Korean media: South Korean parliament vote may repeal martial law
On December 3rd, according to the Korean Herald, the president of South Korea announced a state of emergency late Tuesday night. However, if the protocol controlled by the opposition party is voted to be abolished in the parliament, the protocol will be short-lived. After South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol made this unexpected move, the opposition party, the Democratic Party, quickly mobilized to abolish the measure, despite earlier reports that the road to the Korean National Assembly building was blocked under the emergency decree. Democratic Party leader Lee In-myeong issued an emergency directive to all members of parliament on the same day, demanding a meeting in the parliamentary chamber. Despite the restrictions on entry and exit imposed by the decree, lawmakers began to gather together in an effort to cancel the declaration. As of 11:54 PM (10:54 AM Beijing time), it is still unclear how many people have entered the building.
